Transfers & Weathering: Army Painter Style!
In this hands-on painting class, you’ll learn how to bring your wargaming miniatures to life with realistic wear, damage, and battlefield effects. There will be a focus on using the Army Painter effects to a great effect. Designed for beginners and intermediate painters alike, this session focuses on approachable techniques that create high-impact results without requiring advanced tools or experience.
We’ll cover four key techniques used to add storytelling and realism to your models:
Learn how to properly apply decals (transfers) so they look painted on rather than stuck on. We’ll go over surface preparation, using setting solutions, and blending transfers seamlessly into your miniature.
Add convincing wear and tear to armor and weapons using simple sponge and brush techniques. You’ll learn how to simulate exposed metal and layered paint damage for a battle-worn look.
Bring melee weapons to life with blood effects. We’ll demonstrate how to get more from the army painter Dry and Fresh Blood.
Create aged, corroded surfaces using easy techniques for rust (iron/steel) and verdigris (oxidized bronze/copper). These methods add depth and contrast while telling the story of long-used equipment.
What to bring (if you have one): a wet pallet, small and medium brush
Swag bags will include: Microsol and microset, a brush, a paint vouncher, a colapasible cup, and q-tips
